About CheckedToday

CheckedToday answers one question well: what does a fishing license cost in a given state, and do you need one? Search results for that question are full of pages that promise a fee table and don't show one, or show last year's prices. We built the opposite.

How we verify

• Every price, age rule and date is copied from the state wildlife agency's own website or official documents.
• The source pages are listed at the end of each state page, so you can check them yourself.
• Each page shows the date its figures were last checked. Before every state's license year begins, we check every row again.
• When an agency hasn't published something (for example, next year's free fishing days), we say so instead of guessing.

Coverage

We currently cover Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and we add states one at a time, only once every figure has been checked.

What we are not

We are not a government site, we are not affiliated with any wildlife agency, and we don't sell licenses. This site is supported by advertising. Nothing here is legal advice: the agency's own regulations always prevail.
